Under 100 Days-----Awesome!

Well everybody, the title says it all. We are officially into double digits here, and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. That doesn't mean that I'm just going to be "mailing it in" from now on though. I still have to make it seem like I'm saving the world from Taliban operatives who seem to be trying to destroy freedom through substandard construction.

There are other things that go on here. For example, we're setting up a video theater in some spare room we have in one of our living areas. Well, we ordered some, let me emphasize, LOCALLY-MADE furniture to put in it (you'll see some pictures of that later). It was only here overnight when Aaron, my hooch-mate, said he heard some noise. He turned on the light, looked over on his shelf, and a little mouse just stood up on his hind legs and said, "Yo, what's up?" Then he took off.

Well, the hunt was on. Since the mouse was spotted both on our side, and next door (there is a door that separates the two cells with a gap under the door), we got some wooden traps from Vector Control. Russ said, "Hey, let's use peanut butter." So we did. Four traps, coated with PB, and we waited. Next morning we got up and investigated the traps. This truly was an Afghan mouse. The little resourceful bastard had somehow licked all of the peanut butter off of all of the traps.

OK, the gloves are off! What do we do now? No more peanut butter for him! We decided to use, of all things, raisins. No noise that night, but the next morning, we had ourselves a mouse. Dead as a doornail! I think we did a victory dance. At least Jack didn't have to pull out his pistol, but that would have been pretty cool--Jack out!

Ahhh...poor mouse! NOT! Glad you got "him or her"!
